| Northern NARPO dinner dance held at the Upper House Barlaston on Tursday 26 January 2012 was an excellent evening,enjoyed by all that attended. Entertainment by Trevor Leeson (a musician and comedian) was greatly appreciated. Described by Sub branch secretary Dave Malam as "A cracking night". | The role of secretary has been reluctantly relinquished by John Wowra, who faces ongoing ill health. We wish him improved health and express here our gratitude for the tremendous commitment he has made to NARPO over many years. At the same time we extend a warm welcome and thanks to Dave Malam who has offered to take on the role for the Northern Sub-Branch later in the year, following his retirement. | Dear Members, 5th Annual Christmas and New Year Dinner A thank you to all who took advantage of this 'DO'. Hope you enjoyed the evening at the Upper House Barlaston, a different venue. I remind all members, particularly younger members, that there is no formality at this event and, indeed, other Socials that are arranged. Friends and guests are all welcome. The minimum formality is at the meetings twice a year so that members can enjoy the social side. ( DON'T JUST READ YOUR STAFFS KNOT ISSUES N THEN FORGET ABOUT THE CONTENT BE THERE TO FIND OUT) All functions are subsidized by Staffs Branch and your Sub Branch. You are missing out !! Thanks to your Chairman, Keith Houlston and Dave Scrivens who have assisted me in the organisation of this event. We try to encourage and provide for all members, the younger and more mature. | Dear members, You are invited to attend the half year meeting on Thursday 7th October 2010. The meeting will held at The Tollgate Hotel, off Trentham Road, Blurton, commencing at 7:30. prompt. Following business, guest speaker Commander Steve Norris, now Chief Training Officer for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service will give a presentation on the Service and his own service history and experiences.
