Most of us, who own our own houses or rent properties out, have a story about bad workmanship or people wanting a week’s wages for a day’s work.
I don't see any harm in people making a living, but I do object to paying top prices for sub standard work.
When I left the police in January 2006, I invested my pension fund into rental properties, and I now manage and rent out properties for other people. Since that time I have come across many instances when I have needed plumbers, plasterers, electricians, builders, etc. On occasions I have struggled to find people who were able to do me a good job at a fair price. So, where possible, now I only use people who are recommended to me.
With your help I have started a list of tradesmen who have been used by you and provided you with a good service. In time I would like this list to grow as it circulates, via your friends and other NARPO members. There is no copyright or commercial gain to be had directly by circulating this list. I am happy to share this list with all of my friends and former colleagues, there are no catches and we all benefit from being able to employ someone who does a good job.
This list commends the calibre of the worker; please be sure to obtain quotes from them in the usual way to make sure you are getting good value for money.
Feel free to share this with your friends and let’s see if we can get a decent list of first class, fair minded tradesmen; instead of relying on commercial directories, phone books and overpaid cowboys.
