On Tuesday 2nd March 2010, members of the sub branch held their branch meeting at Coton and Hopwas Social Club. It was well attended and Glyn (chairman) welcomed new members and guests. He thanked Ken Vaughan for stepping in to take notes in the absence of secretary Joe Baker.
National Contact Welfare Courses are being offered in the regions later in the year. The Sub Branch will be nominating someone to attend. It is anticipated that PMAS will host these at its offices in Lichfield.
Members were reminded that local subscriptions are now due (£3).
The treasurers report was received without question.
A programme of events, trips and social activities was discussed.
There are no welfare issues for members at the current time.
Webmaster, Joe Molloy spoke briefly about development of the website; in addition, members were encouraged to provide the Branch Secretary with e-mail addresses, as this enables effective and efficient communication of NARPO news.
Guest speaker David Howell, one of our members, showed slides and spoke of his work in a voluntary capacity at The Garden Tomb, Jerusalem. You can find out more about the tomb and view pictures or video on the following website: http://www.gardentomb.org

Tamworth Section held their annual Winter Dinner at Drayton Park Golf Club, Drayton Bassett, Tamworth on the evening of the 19th January 2010 with great success. The event was attended by some fifty seven persons who enjoyed a sumptuous three course dinner in wonderful surroundings.
Following the meal all ladies were given a table gift and some were lucky enough to take away the table centres. Our raffle raised £121 for our funds.
Following our Chairman’s news from the front the remainder of the evening was given over to two three quarter hour sessions of joyful entertainment delivered by Phil Chase.
Everyone attending enjoyed the gathering and this augers well for our future endeavours. We hold a summer luncheon, to which all members and friends are invited, and this event usually attracts about sixty persons. We hold our meetings bi-monthly on the first Tuesday of the month; our next meeting is on the 2nd March 2010 and we will have speaker giving a talk on Israel.

2010: Happy new year to you all. Our 5 January 2010 meeting was cancelled at the last minute but I have arranged a new one. New date 7pm Tuesday 26th January 2010 at the Coton and Hopwas Club. Joe Baker (Secretary).

On Tuesday evening 15th January 2007, the Annual Winter Dinner took place at Drayton Park Golf Club, Drayton.
There were 48 members and friends present sitting down to a 5 course meal; Nicky Moran who is known by many Staffordshire NARPO members rounded of the evening with a delightful hour long vocal rendition. Photos Click here
